2008 Online Stallion Auction

Anna was tragically killed in a fall during the cross country phase of the Naracoorte Horse Trials in 1997, at the time Anna was listed on the Elite Eventing Squad and was working towards Olympic selection for Sydney 2000. The Foundation was set up to honour Anna and celebrate her achievements as one of our country’s finest equestrian athletes and a favourite competitor amongst her peers. The prestigious Anna Savage Medal was born, awarded annually to the “best & fairest” Australian based competitor.

At Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney CCI ***/**** events competitors are awarded votes against three set criteria - competitive excellence, horsemanship & sportsmanship. The rider who accumulates the most votes after all three events is presented the perpetual medal and winner’s cheque to help them fulfil their international dreams.
The Foundation raises money to not only secure the future of this award, but aims to build a corpus of funds that will allow a greater financial commitment to the winner. We envision that one day this award will be equal in financial status to any major three day event win. Funds raised through this Stallion Auction will help continue the work of the Foundation and making sure our Elite athletes have an annual award that allows them to strive towards being better competitors not just on the score board but across all facets of competition and horsemanship.
The board of the Foundation wishes to thank the stallion donors who share in our love for horse sports, and in honouring a much loved member of the equestrian community – Anna.

Auction conditions of sale
Each bid is for a Stallion Service ONLY (e.g. Live Cover or Semen, chilled or frozen) associated costs such as agistment, handling, semen collection, transport and veterinary costs are the responsibility of the mare owner. You can expect the following charges:-

Live service or natural cover
handling fee and agistment
Chilled or frozen semen
Collection and transport

The successful bidder is responsible to discuss with the Stallion owner terms regarding LIVE FOAL GUARANTEE or FREE RETURN.

If a final bid is deemed to be below value the Foundation has the right to pass the service – as a courtesy to the Stallion owner.

The successful bidder will be notified by the Foundation, once payment has been received (cheque or EFT). The stallion owner will only be notified once payment has been cleared. It is then the mare owners responsibility to begin communications with the Stallion owner to redeem the service.

Each bidder is required to fill in a certain amount of details before registering a bid.

How the auction works: Whilst there is a nominal closing time of 4.30pm (Brisbane Time) - which is 5pm Adelaide Time, on the 24th of November, there will be a delay added to the system whereby if no new bids are received after the close time, the item will close for bidding. However, if additional bids come in on an individual item during this 3 minute period, bidding will be extended on this item for an additional 3 minutes, until such time as 3 minutes pass without any further bids.
