The 2010 Australian International Three Day Event will be held in the Adelaide parklands from November 12th to 14th

This prestigious event has the unique distinction of being the only CCI4* (Olympic level) 3DE in the Southern Hemisphere.

Retaining the event in Adelaide now and into the future, is of vital importance, not only for the benefit of all Australian based riders vying for Olympic & World Championship Australian Team selection but also for the development of our Youth and Talented Young horses in the associated lower level classes.
This world renowned event, held in the wonderful Adelaide City Parklands, is a great showcase for the sport of Eventing and Equestrian pursuits in general , but is costly to run.

In 2009 this important SA Event was in imminent danger of cancellation due to a budget shortfall. The extraordinary public response to the "Help Save AI 3DE campaign" with the creation of a "Survival Fund" - which was most generously supported by donations from equestrian enthusiasts and public alike from all across Australia and around the World - enabled the Board of Management to decide to proceed.

The 2010 event needs all the support it can muster. To this end we have decided to run another Stallion Auction. The stallion owners from last year’s auction agreed it was a wonderful showcase for their horses and most have agreed to support us again.

AUCTION - CONDITIONS OF SALE

• The Bid Value is for the actual Service / Semen and that all associated costs (agistment, handling fee, collection & transport of semen, veterinary costs etc) are the responsibility of the successful bidder in addition to the bid value. 
• The method of Service - Live Cover (and locality stallion is standing) or Semen, (chilled or frozen), is listed on the Auction advertising material together with the advertised Service Fee (including or plus GST).
• Associated costs - with Live Cover would include agistment for the mare at stud and any Handling Fee normally charged by the stud.
• With Chilled Semen would include a collection fee and a transport of semen fee. (approx. $300 - $500.)
• With Frozen Semen would include a transport of semen in a hired cannister. (approx. $300)
• A "Reserve" of approximately half the advertised Service Fee will be placed on each Stallion Service (as a courtesy to both owner & stallion).
• All other items (horse float etc.) will only be sold once their reserves have been reached.
• The Stallion Owner will be informed of the successful bidder's details on completion of the Auction, and confirmed after payment to AI 3DE is received.
• The successful bidder is then responsible to discuss with the stallion owner the terms regarding Live Foal Guarantee (conditions may apply) and / or Free Return and / or number of insemination doses per contract (some state a maximum of 3 doses)
• Terms & conditions, as per the Stud's normal breeding contract, would also apply.
• Each bidder is required to fill in a certain amount of details before registering a bid.

AUCTION - HOW IT WORKS

Nominate.com.au have generously donated their website services to conduct the online auction (www.nominate.com.au).  
Thirty one stallion services have been donated for this Auction which is to be posted online from late August and for bidding to conclude at 5pm EST on September 30th.

How the auction works: Whilst there is a nominal closing time of 5.00pm (Brisbane Time) - which is 4.30pm Adelaide Time, on the 30th of September, there will be a delay added to the system whereby if no new bids are received after the close time, the item will close for bidding. However, if additional bids come in on an individual item during this 3 minute period, bidding will be extended on this item for an additional 3 minutes, until such time as 3 minutes pass without any further bids.
