Western Dressage in Canada

Western Dressage is about learning communication and an age old process of training for your equine partner and how you can improve yourself and your horse with a progressive system.

It is pointless to define a Western Dressage horse and what it should look like.  Just like it is in the traditional dressage ring, horses come in many shapes and sizes.  Western Dressage is used to improve the horses that you presently ride Western.  It is not based on a breed or type.

The Association

The Western Style Dressage Association of Canada (WSDAC) was formed in 2011 and is a registered not-for-profit corporation in Canada.

The Sanctioned Show National Points Program is an annual program that runs from December 1st to November 30th each year.  This program allows WSDAC Members who compete in Sanctioned WSDAC Chapter or Permit shows to have their scores tracked Nationally.  The program is based on horse/rider combinations.  Scores earned at these sanctioned shows by horses that are registered with WSDAC will also be tracked in the Lifetime Horse Performance program.

With your WSDAC membership you may register your horse to accumulate points for accheivements.   Points are accrued from every ride from sanctioned shows.
