Galston Equestrian Club Dressage Event
Official Competitive and Unofficial Classes
All current EA members and GEC members can enter

This competition will be run according to EA Dressage Rules effective 1 January 2026. To enter the rider must be a current financial member of either GEC or Equestrian Australia (EA). For Official classes both the rider and the horse must be registered and currently financial with Equestrian Australia.

NEW CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS
This year GEC are running a Club Championship Program at each of these levels:
- Preparatory
- Preliminary (both Official and Unofficial classes taken into consideration for prize at this level)
- Novice (both Official and Unofficial classes taken into consideration for prize at this level)
The Club Champion at each of these levels will be named and awarded a prize at the AGM to be held on 7 December 2026
Eligibility:
- Must be a club member
- Must have competed in at least 3 of the 5 competitions being run this year:
Sunday 22 March (Official Competitive event)
Saturday 18 April (Official Competitive Event)
Sunday 10 May (Note: Mothers Day) (Official Competitive event)
Sunday 27 July (Unofficial event)
Sunday 26 September (Unofficial event)
- Must have volunteered at at least three of the five competitions with arena setup/packup or pencilling.

01 - EA Prep Test 1 - GEC & EA members
02 - EA Prep Test 2 - GEC & EA members
03 - EA Closed Unrestricted Prelim 1.1 (Unofficial) - GEC & EA members
04 - EA Closed Unrestricted Prelim 1.2 (Unofficial) - GEC & EA members
05 - EA Official Competitive Prelim 1.2 - EA Members (horse must also be registered with current dressage licence)
06 - EA Official Competitive Prelim 1.3 - EA Members (horse must also be registered with current dressage licence)
07 - EA Closed Unrestricted Novice 2.1 (Unofficial) - GEC & EA Members
08 - EA Closed Unrestricted Novice 2.2 (Unofficial) - GEC & EA Members
09 - EA Official Competitive Novice 2.2 - EA Members (horse must also be registered with current dressage licence)
10 - EA Official Competitive Novice 2.3 - EA Members (horse must also be registered with current dressage licence)
11 - EA Closed Restricted Elementary 3.1 - GEC members only
12 - EA Closed Restricted Elementary 3.2 - GEC members only
13 - EA Closed Restricted Medium 4.1 - GEC members only
14 - EA Closed Restricted Medium 4.2 - GEC members only
Awards and Placings:
Rosettes/ribbons will be awarded to 3rd place in classes with 5 or more starters and up to 6th place in classes with 15 or more starters.
Callers are allowed for all tests.
Plaiting is not required for Prep and Unofficial tests.
All classes are on grass arenas.
Cost of entry per class: GEC/APC Members $35
Non GEC/APC members $40
All entries must be done on NOMINATE closing 8 March 2026
Neither the Organising Committee of any competition to which these rules apply nor the EA accepts any liability for any accident, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, grounds, spectators or any other person or property whatsoever.
***Bridle Numbers are needed.*** If you don't have a bridle number please contact Equestrian NSW (phone (02) 9620 2660) to have one allocated. Holders are available from your local saddlery. You will need one for each side.

Late entries will not be accepted. Closing date: 8 March 2026
Please indicate on the entry your preferred time between tests. We will try our best to accommodate your preferences.
Closed Restricted classes - open to GEC/APC Members only
Maximum two tests per horse and rider combination*
* The EA rules allow three tests however due to arena and time constraints the committee has decided to keep the limit to two tests per horse
A horse can be entered at two consecutive levels. Only one rider per horse.

Due to council requirements, gates cannot be opened for float entry before 8:00am. First test at 9.00am
No dogs are welcome at competition days. Please leave them at home.
Scoring will be done on the Nominate Scoreboard App so your test papers will be emailed to you.
