Are you a Driver with a Disability?
Would you like to have a go at a new test, specially written for Drivers with a Disability?
Are you already a Para or Virtus Athlete? Or maybe thinking about getting assessed for Para or Virtus?
Then this event is for you!
Drivers from all over the world who are Para or Virtus assessed, or have a self-assessed disability that makes things harder in some way are invited to submit a video of their test during the month of August, get feedback from judges, and help us to further develop a test that challenges Drivers in an inclusive way.
This test involves both a Dressage phase and a Cones phase, in the same arena (40 x 80m) at the same time. You do the Dressage phase and immediately start the Cones phase. The pattern is the same, so only five things to remember.
You go up centre line, halt and salute, turn left at C, then
1. Serpentine,
2. Circle left,
3. Diagonal,
4. Circle right,
5. Loop (or deviation)
then down the centre line and repeat, doing the cones 1 through 13 as you do the same pattern.
Easier to plan, to practice, to remember.

Proposed Dressage and Cones Driving test
For the Virtual competition all tests will be judged from B. Videoing may include appropriate zooming, eg to show that the balls on the cones are still in place.
-
The videographer must stand well behind B. All recording must be in landscape.
-
The quality of the video must be so that it can be judged keeping the horse central in the frame of the picture throughout with appropriate zooming in and out (not overzooming).
-
The caller (commander) must stand beside the videographer. Sound must be recorded to ensure the driver is not receiving coaching during the Test.
-
The video must be in one take, without cuts.
-
Videos will only be accepted in You Tube Unlisted format and the link/password sent to the competition organising committee.
-
Horses and ponies can be driven by two drivers.
