WAECI Fire and Ice SJ and Hacking day is a themed event and we encourage competitors to wear RED/WHITE/BLUE on the day, as either fancy dress or a smart outfit, to help recognise and celebrate the amazing work of our volunteer fire fighters - in particular the work they do to help keep rural properties and our precious horses safe.

Entry Fee: $60- this includes all relevant hacking classes as well as 2x SJ rounds. No split fees. 

Ground Fee: $15

Yard Hire: $5 Optional 

Donations: Optional 

Conditions of Entry

Rider Requirements

  • Riders must be 18 years of age or over as of 10th October
  • Riders ride at their own risk
  • Riders must present in safety approved helmets (EA tagged) and boots for the right to ride
  • Riders are encouraged to wear red/white/blue- no jackets. Fancy dress is not permitted but encouraged.
  • This is an encouragement event, no official riders please
  • Rudeness to judges, stewards, volunteers or officials will not be tolerated. Any person seen disrespecting judges, stewards, volunteers or officials will be asked to leave and entries forfeited
  • Riders must enter the ring appropriate to their level of experience and must only ride in either walk trot, OR walk trot canter classes, not both.
  • To assist with the smooth running of the event, riders are expected to complete a helper duty, or nominate a helper
  • This is a FUN event. WAECI will not tolerate any bullying, taunting, or unsupportive behaviour.

Horse Requirements

  • Horses must be no less than 4 years of age as of 21st April 2024
  • No stallions or colts permitted, unless pre-approved by the committee.
  • Any horse who kicks is required to wear a RED ribbon in the tail
  • No unsound or dangerous horses may compete. Any horse deemed unsound on the day will be asked to leave the ring by the judge with entries forfeited

Gear/Presentation

  • No double bridles
  • Riders are encouraged to wear red/white/blue- no jackets. Fancy dress is not permitted but encouraged.
  • All gear must be up to current standards and gear will be checked- helmets must be EA tagged. 

Showjumping

  • Showjumping rounds are as per optimum time rules
  • Riders may compete in one round, or up to two consecutive heights only

General

  • Judges decisions are final. Protests must be lodged within 30 minutes of the completion of the event and be accompanied by a $50 fee.
  • No refunds except with a veterinarian or doctors certificate
  • The organisers/committee reserves the right to alter the program, combine, split or cancel events at any time.
  • All rubbish must be placed in the bins or taken home with you
  • All manure and excess hay must be picked up and disposed off in the appropriate skip bins
  • If a yard is hired for the day, the rider is responsible for ensuring the yard is left in the same condition they came in
  • No dogs allowed at the event as per Whiteman Park rules
