Denise Rofe is an EA Level 1 General and Level 2 Dressage coach based in Woodside, South Australia, with a distinguished career in both eventing and dressage. She has trained and competed horses up to Grand Prix level and continues to coach riders across all levels. Holding a Master’s degree in Science and a Diploma in music teaching, Denise brings a unique, evidence-based approach to equestrian training, with a strong focus on horse behaviour, biomechanics, and rider development. Her contributions to equestrian education in South Australia have been widely recognised, including receiving the Lindy Wright Memorial Award, and she currently represents riders on the International Society for Equitation Science committee.
Born and raised on a farm, Denise developed a lifelong passion for horses from an early age. After an initial career in science, she returned to equestrian sport in her late twenties, eventually making dressage her primary discipline. Alongside coaching full-time, she remains an active FEI-level competitor and is dedicated to advancing horse welfare through science-led training methods. Combining her interests in science, music, and horsemanship, Denise is passionate about helping riders become confident, independent trainers equipped with a deep understanding of their horses.
