VERSATILITY DAY SUNDAY 29th JUNE 2024
Join Sydney Working Equitation (SWEQ) for an exciting day to improve and practice your skills with the Mechanical Cow, Cowboy Dresage and WEQ. It doesn't matter if you haven't done any mechanical cow, cowboy dressage or Working Equitation before or you are experienced. All "on the job" training provided and we will match you up with a rider of your experience for the mecanical cow lesson.
Entry fee to the day includes:
1) A one hour lesson with the mechanical cow with Matt Charles from Sliding Lodge Performance Horses. Learn how to work your horse with the mechanical cow (a mechanical cow is a small white flag on a rope that slides side to side). The 1 hour lesson is for 2 riders at a time and Matt will adjust the level according to rider and horse experience. This is a great introduction for those needing to learn cattle work for WEQ or for those who just want to learn a new skill that involves having your horse respond quickly to your aids.
2) Ride four Cowboy Dressage Tests. Both the Open Court (a 40 x 20m Dressage Arena) and Challenge Court (a 40 x 20m Dressage Arena which has trot poles and cones) will be set up. A caller will be availbale to call tests and explain how to ride the tests. Cowboy Dressage is a lot of fun and great training tool you can incoprtate into your riding at home.
3) WEQ obstacle will be set up and ample opportunity to ride EOH rounds and do speed rounds. Great teaining practice for those who do WEQ and an opportunity to try for those new to WEQ.
