Conditions of Entry

  1. Entries are via the Nominate online entry system. Entries close on Friday, 12 April 2024 at 11:00pm unless classes are filled prior. by completing an entry on Nominate, the rider acknowledges acceptance & understanding of the Conditions of Entry for this event.
  2. EA Classes will be run in accordance with the current EA National Dressage Rules. It is the responsibility of the competitor to be aware of and to comply with the rules at all times. Copies of the current EA Dressage rules and tests are available at Equestrian Australia Dressage Rules. Riders in EA classes must complete a Gear Check after their test.
  3. Pony Club Classes will run in accordance with the current Pony Club Australia National Gear Rules, the Pony Club WA Appendixes to support the Pony Club Australia National Rules and the Equestrian Australia National Dressage rules. If there is a conflict between these rules, the Pony Club rules take precedence. Riders in Pony Club classes must complete a Gear Check before their test.
  4. All tests will commence from the inside of the arena. You must wait until the horse in the test before you leaves the arena before you enter it. Only 1 horse in the arena at a time.

  6. Eligibility of Riders: Classes are open to Pony Club WA and EA members only.
  7. A horse or pony can enter no more than 2 consecutive levels & compete in a maximum of 2 tests per day.
  8. One horse, one rider. No horse may compete with 2 riders.
  9. Provisional Draw: The Organising Committee will endeavour to post this on or before the Monday prior to the event.
  10. Final Draw: There will be one Final Draw. The Organising Committee will endeavour to post on the Wednesday prior to the event
  11. Helper Duties: We will be using SignUp for our Helper Duties. We require people to assist us to help run competitions. Please arrange to bring along a reliable helper to complete a job. This is not a “Self Help” event but there are a limited number of duties that may be suitable to be carried out prior to or at the conclusion of the event. Please email the committee as early as possible if you would like to apply for one of these duties. Riders must not nominate other riders as their designated helper. One Helper Duty per horse/order combination. Helpers must be aged 16 years or over. If you fail to complete your allocated Helper Duty your rider may be eliminated and future entries to our events may be refused.
  12. Helper Duty Bond: A Helper Duty Bond of $30 per horse/rider combination will be taken at the time of entry on Nominate. On completion of the Helper Duty, the bond will be refunded via Nominate after the event. Riders may elect to forfeit their Helper Duty Bond and not select a Helper Duty.
  13. Multiple Entries: A rider may compete with a maximum of 2 ponies/horses. In accordance with the EA Dressage Rules, and with due consideration to riders with multiple entries, the Organisers will endeavour in the planning of the draw to accommodate all entries. Preferential treatment on draw times cannot be afforded to riders with multiple entries. This may mean that the draw time from the start of one test to the start of your next test could be reduced. In determining the draw full consideration will be given to the welfare of horse and rider.
  14. Arena Familiarisation: If Arena Familiarisation is to be undertaken it will be advised at the time of the draw
  15. Competition Arenas: During warm-up/training, no pony/horse (either mounted or led) is permitted within 15 metres of any competition arena.
  16. Gear Check: It is recommended that riders present to the Marshall 20 minutes prior to their allocated Draw time. Riders who do not incur a Gear Check may incur elimination. Pony Club riders must be gear checked prior to their test by the Pony Club designated Gear Checker or Steward. EA riders must be gear checked by the designated EA Gear Checker or Steward after their test.
  17. No parking on the Polo field or along the dividing tree line between the two ovals.
  18. Dogs: No dogs are permitted at the event unless they are registered Assistance animals. Proof of registration as an Assistance Animal may be requested.
  19. Manure and hay: Manure and hay must be picked up and put in the manure receptacle provided. If your horse digs a hole, please fill it back in with the same dirt and leave the ground level.
  20. Lungeing: If you wish to lunge your horse or pony, please do so in the enclosed arena on the boundary next to the Golf Club. Please ensure you are wearing fully enclosed shoes, gloves and an approved safety helmet.
  21. Code of Conduct: Abuse or aggression towards judges, officials, volunteers, competitors or spectators will not be tolerated. All behaviour must adhere to the Pony Club WA and EA Codes of Conduct.
  22. Disclaimer of Liability: Neither the Organising committee nor the Pony Club WA accepts any liability for any accident, damage, injury, or illness to horses, owners, riders, grounds, spectator’s or any other person or property whatsoever.
  23. Scratching’s must provide a medical or veterinary certificate within 5 days of the competition to be eligible for a refund. An administration fee of $20 per horse/pony will be deducted.
