A $5 ground fee applies per horse.

General notes

  • This is a closed unrestricted event - please note that all riders must be members of MARC and/or EA.
  • In the event of extreme or inclement weather please check our Facebook page (Murrumbateman Adult Riding Club) for advice on whether the event will proceed.
  • Scratchings after entries have closed require a vet or medical certificate for a refund to be made.
  • First aid:
    • A first aid service will be in attendance on the day.
    • Any rider who has a fall from a horse at the competition must be checked by first aid staff before remounting their horse.
  • Dressage:
  • Showjumping:
    • Horses may only be entered in a maximum of two showjumping classes.
    • Horses must be at least four years of age to jump at this competition.
    • No showjumping entries may be accepted on the day.
    • A horse may be ridden in the dressage and showjumping by different riders but must complete its dressage classes before the change of rider.
  • Assistance roster:
    • When you receive the emailed draw for the dressage you will also be provided a link to SignUp.com to complete a compulsory volunteer roster.
    • You will need to volunteer for one of four assistance options, listed below. Alternatively, you can nominate a representative to help on your behalf.
    • Setting up arenas – at Murrumbateman Recreation Grounds on Saturday 18 May, 2.30 – 4.30pm.
    • Packing up dressage arenas dressage arenas need to be packed up when all dressage arenas have finished.
    • Packing up showjumping arena – the showjumping arena can be packed up when the 75cm event concludes.
    • Picking up showjumping poles/marshalling – you can select a one-hour timeslot that doesn’t clash with your classes.
  • No stallions are allowed at this event.
  • Dogs must be on a lead at all times.

Competitor information

 

  • It is the rider’s responsibility to be familiar with competition rules.
  • Dressage:
  • Showjumping:
    • Starts with x-rails at 9.00am.
    • Course opens for walking half an hour earlier.
  • Ribbons and prizes:
    • Ribbons awarded to 6th place in all classes except the x-rails.
    • All clear rounds in the x-rails will receive a ribbon.
    • There are prizes for the winners of all classes except the x-rails.
    • Prize-winners need to pick up their prizes from the office on the day.
  • Attire, tack and presentation:
    • This is an informal competition, plaiting of horses is optional.
    • The key requirement is to be neat and tidy.
    • Jackets are optional.
    • Riders should wear light-coloured jodhpurs/breeches and a shirt with collar and sleeves, or a sleeveless shirt with a ratcatcher-style collar.
    • Riders must wear an EA-approved helmet and riding boots at all times when riding.
    • All helmets need to be tagged in accordance with current EA requirements. Helmets can be tagged at the event office.
    • If your helmet is not tagged you should not mount up before you have taken the helmet to the office and had it tagged.
    • For the dressage, riders must wear gloves and the saddlery and equipment for the horse is as per EA rules. Saddles must be dressage or all-purpose style.
  • Venue information:
    • Float entry is off Murrumbateman Road. The entry gates off the road must be kept closed at all times.
    • Some yards are available on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.
    • Competitors may park near the competition arenas where yards and water are located. Additional yards may be available near the ‘Moon Shed’.
    • There is plenty of parking space. Please leave enough room between floats so horses can be tied to them at a safe distance from other horses and vehicles.
    • There is a fenced sand arena available for warming up. No lunging is allowed in this arena.
    • No unsupervised children, prams/strollers or dogs are allowed on the roadway between the sand arenas. This is a busy thoroughfare for horses and riders.
    • No horses are allowed at any time on the sports oval or in its immediate surrounds.
    • While bottled drinking water will be available for purchase, you are also advised to bring your own.
    • The water on tap at the grounds is untreated bore water, suitable for horses but not people.
    • Hoses are available for hosing down horses.
    • A van selling hot food and drinks will operate during the day.
