WORKING EQUITATION - CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

JANUARY 2020

General:                   All events will be held in accordance with ANWEL Official Rule Book 2019.
The onus is on the competitor to know the rules.

Bridle numbers:    Bridle numbers are compulsory.  Bridle numbers must be provided at the time of entry on Nominate. Two bridle numbers, one on each side of the horse, must be clearly displayed while riding in front of the Judge.

                                   Contact EA NSW for your free bridle number.  All horses must have a bridle number.

 Entries:                    Are only accepted via Nominate including team entries.

The Organising Committee reserves the right to delete any class in the case of insufficient entries.

CEI reserves the right to refuse any entry.

Capped Entries:    30 horses per event

Volunteers              To make this event enjoyable for everyone ALL riders will be allocated a small ground crew job during the event eg course setter, gear steward, penciller etc.  You will receive a run sheet after the closing date.

Scratchings:          Scratchings will be accepted up to the closing date of the event.

Refunds:                 50% refunds less the administration fee will be given if scratched before the closing date. Scratchings after the closing date with a vet’s or doctor’s certificate will be refunded 20% of the entry fee (admin fee is not refundable).

Levels:                   Horses must enter at their normal competition level or higher.  Proof may be required.  Horses may only compete at one level per event.

One rider per horse for the entire event.

All levels from Leadline to Masters.

                               No horses are to be ridden at the event or on event grounds unless they are entered in the event.

                              

Draw:                       Every attempt is made to accommodate riders, horses and tests within appropriate time frames as recommended by EA.  However, the Organising Committee reserves the right to design the draw in the most appropriate manner to suit all competitors.  The Organising Committee has the final say regarding the draw and protracted discussions will not be entertained. The draw will be emailed to all entrants.  Draw position cannot be changed without the permission of the Organising Committee.

Draw Times:           Times must be STRICTLY observed.  If you are late you may be eliminated from that phase.  Although you may still compete in the next phase

 Code of conduct: Please be aware that ANWEL has a yellow card offence system in place.  More details are on the ANWEL website www.anweltd.com.au

 

Competition:            Riding on course prior to the event will result in elimination.

 

Cancellation:          In the event the competition is cancelled as determined by the Organising Committee at its discretion, entry fees will be refunded less the $10.00 administration fee. These fees are non-refundable. The CEI Facebook page will be updated in the event of any changes.  Any changes after the closing date will be notified to all entered competitors by email via Nominate.

 

Callers:                    Callers are permitted.  Riders in the Working Equitation Dressage phase with callers will be penalised 5 points.  Riders in the Working Equitation Maneability phase with callers will also incur a 5 point penalty.

 

Tack/Attire:             Each RIDER is to present in the correct tack/attire. Check the ANWEL Rulebook if you are unsure.

 

Tack not Permitted: PLEASE READ THE ANWEL RULE BOOK CAREFULLY FOR TACK REQUIREMENTS.

Walking course:     Times WILL BE STRICTLY adhered to as per the draw when issued.  The course must be walked in full competition attire.

 

Course Check:      Be aware that it is the rider’s responsibility to make sure the course has been re-set before you start your ride.  It is NOT the responsibility of the judges or ground crew so check before you start.

 

Gear Check:           Gears checks for riders and horses are compulsory prior to each phase by the gear steward.  Elimination will occur if gear checks are not completed at the correct time.

                                   Please be aware of restrictions on gear changes between phases  Failure to do so may cause elimination 

  • Nosebands MUST be sufficiently loose to fit two fingers standing away from the horse’s nose.  Failure to rectify a noseband that is too tight as directed by the gear steward or judge will incur elimination.
  • Bits – as per the ANWEL Rule Book and EA Dressage (EA National Dressage Rules 01/01/2019 page 65) bit regulations.
  • The above two conditions are applicable anywhere on the competition ground.

 

Dogs:                       All dogs must be kept on a leash. Dogs, children, prams etc. are not allowed in the actual competition and warmup areas.

Veterinary checks: Random swabbing may take place. If approached by the Official Steward/Vet Officer of the day, the person responsible for the horse must allow samples to be taken

Disputes:                From time to time there may be the need to lodge a protest in relation to the results of a competition. In these instances, it is essential to follow the Protest Protocol in the ANWEL Rule Book Section 9.  Judge’s decision is FINAL.

Ground jury will be named and included in the riders’ draw.

 

Accommodation:    Camp Sites / Stables /Day Yards and Day Stays should be booked via Nominate after the early bird closing date once it is decided whether the event will be 1 or 2 days.

 

                                    PLEASE BE AWARE ALL HORSES ON THE GROUNDS WHO HAVE NOT BOOKED AND PAID FOR A STABLE WILL BE CHARGED A $15 DAY STAY

                                   

 

Warm Up Arenas:   Please be considerate of other horses warming up and observe arena rules i.e. left shoulder to left shoulder, walk on the inside track, look where you are going etc.

 

Briefing:                    Briefing of riders and judges will be held before the start of competition.  You will be notified of briefing details with your draw

.

 

 

Scoring:                    Will be in accordance with the ANWEL Rule Book.  Interim Results will be announced and posted at least 30 minutes prior to the final presentation.

Queries:                    All Questions regarding this event will only be answered via email (glynis.dickinson@bigpond.com) after 1st February

 

Volunteers:              It is a condition of entry that you volunteer 1 hour of your time or you can submit a family friend or relative as per entry on Nominate.  

 

Photo & Video:       It is a condition of entry that any photo or video taken at the competition may be used by ANWE Ltd for promotional or educational purposes.

 

 

3 UP HORSE ‘N’ AROUND 2020 PERPETUAL TROPHY

 

 

Open Team Entries Conditions

 

 

Teams for this Trophy over 2020 must be entered as a team in the first competition on 1st March 2020.

 

 

$10 per rider team entry is $30 (3 riders) per competition.  The assigned team leader is to make the team entry and collect the entry monies from their riders.

 

  1. 3 riders from any level and any club and can be mixed clubs.
  2. The total points from each of the three riders from each of the three 2020 competitions (1st March, 7th June and 11th October) will be added together to determine the winning team.

The placing achieved in the level at which each rider competes will determine the points allocated (Eg 1st place 10 pts, 2nd place 9pts, 3rd 8pts etc).  Points will be released and posted on CEI Facebook page after each competition.

  1.  The winning team after the 3 competitions held will receive all of the team entry monies collected and have their names added to the Perpetual Trophy.
  2. The rider and horse combination must be the same at all 3 competitions however it does not matter if levels are changed in accordance with the ANWEL Rule Book.
  3. In the event of a rider and horse having to scratch (with vet cert) as long as the rider attends on the day and volunteers their time the team may still compete holding their points achieved.

2.         All persons who ride or tend a horse on the competition grounds do so entirely at their own risk.
