Southern Zone Pony Club Show Jumping Championships

Entries open on Nominate, closing 1st August
- Course walk at 8.30am.
- Venue: Monmouth Pony Club
- Entry fee: $50 plus ground fee
- Horses can only compete in one Pony Club Championship class, but riders may ride two different horses on the day in either the same or different classes.
- Ribbons to 6th place. Rosettes & rugs for the Champion PC rider in each grade kindly sponsored by Bendigo Bank. Grade 4 and 5 Championships will be awarded on three different criteria including performance, horse welfare and sportsmanship.
- PC riders are to wear formal uniform.
- Plaiting is required for all equitation and SJ Championship classes.
- Thank you to Tas Racing, off the track ribbons and overall Champion will be awarded as well as a harmony/encouragement award for the day.
- Open to EA and PC riders. Ribbons for classes and rosettes for Pony Club Championships. EA riders compete against PC but are not eligible for Championship ribbons or rugs. Pony Club Championships rosettes and rugs will be presented based on accumulated points over all rounds.
- Canteen will be open and available for breakfast, snacks, drinks and lunch.

Jumping Equitation Championship - Refer to PCT Handbook section 7.5.4
- be judged by two judges if possible, using JE scoresheet form 10.7.9.
- be conducted over one round of a course of 8 - 10 fences, including a double (9 - 11 efforts).
- equitation will run under optimum time, with time penalties influencing the final score.
- for the course is calculated at 325 meters per minute; time penalties are incurred as per the PCT Showjumping rules.

Show Jumping Championship - Refer to PCT Handbook section 7.5.5
The Championships will consist of classes for grades 1-5. Grade 3 will be divided as follows:
- Junors under 17 years
- Seniors & Masters 17 and over
The Showjumping Championship will be judged under Table A over two rounds as per EA Jumping Rules 2026 Edition Article 221.3.3.4.2
To be judged under Table A over two rounds.
- round – “Not against the clock”
- round – “Against the clock”
- are placed by adding the penalties for the two rounds.
- are classified by total penalties and the time taken in the second round in case of equality.
- course for the second round may be identical or different and increased in size at the discretion of the CD & judge.
Grade 4 & 5 will be unofficial competitions. They will run as article 218.1.5
For Grade 5 the speed will be 220m/minute. Grade 4 will be 275m/minute.
Riders cannot be assisted.
The second class will be a fun unofficial class. Depending on entries it will be a rescue relay or odds and evens.
