  1. ANNOUNCEMENT:

The Kilcoy Motorcycle Club Inc, hereafter called the PROMOTING CLUB will conduct Closed to Club Day Motocross for Juniors and Seniors at the address as shown above, as per Permit Applications applied for.

 

  1. JURISDICTION:

2.1      The abovementioned meeting has been authorised by MQ who has issued the Motorcycling Australia Permit Number AS ABOVE and is open to holders of current Motorcycling Australia National, Mini and One Meeting Licences (OML to junior riders if they hold a current JCP Log Book), who are full financial members of the Promoting Club (no discount or one day memberships are allowed).

2.2      The meeting will be held in accordance with the current Manual of Motorcycle Sport General Competition Rules (GCR’s), these Supplementary Regulations, and any Final Instructions approved by MQ.

BY ENTERING THIS MEETING ALL PARTIES AGREE TO COMPLY WITH THESE RULES, REGULATIONS, BY-LAWS AND INSTRUCTIONS.

 

  1. ENTRIES:

3.1      Entries open forthwith and will be accepted online: www.nominate.com.au

3.2      On time entries via nominate will close on the Friday night prior to a Sunday race meet and Thursday night prior to a Saturday race meet.

3.3      Online entry is via credit card payments and will incur a 3.3% handling fee.  Only Mastercard and Visa are accepted.  

3.4      Entries will be accepted on the morning of race meets before the close of scrutineering but a late fee of $20 will apply.

3.5      In the case of postponement or abandonment of the meeting, all or any part of the entry fee may be retained by the Club, if such retention is approved by MQ.

 

  1. INSURANCE:

4.1      National Personal Accident Scheme provides basic cover for death and permanent disability.

4.2      Ambulance Insurance is compulsory for licensees.

4.3      IT IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THAT COMPETITORS GIVE CONSIDERATION TO TAKING OUT WEEKLY BENEFITS INSURANCE.

 

5.           MEDICAL SERVICES:

1300 Medics staff will be in attendance from the start of practice until fifteen minutes after the last race.

 

  1.   ENTRY FEE:

6.1      $25 for first class bike with Additional Bike Class $15, plus a medical service and Flag Marshall Levy of $20 per rider.

6.2      Payments received on the morning of the race day must be by cash or cheque only. ANY FEES FOR DISHONOURED CHEQUES WILL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE ENTRANT.

6.3      Cheques and Money Orders are to be made payable to Kilcoy Motorcycle Club Inc.

7.1      Grading for graded classes have been done in January 2018 and will be done again after the second (2nd) club day for 2018. Any regraded riders will take points to a maximum of 3rd place in the higher grade.

7.2      New members to the club may be graded on the day by the Race Secretary.

7.3      Anytime throughout the year, any rider can be re-graded by the Race Secretary.

7.4      If a rider wants to be re-graded, they need to apply to the Race Secretary.  Any regraded riders will take points to a maximum of 3rd place in the higher grade.

7.5      All holders of MA National licences must ride at a minimum of their National grade.

7.6      Once a rider moves to a higher age/class, points earned in the lower class will not be transferred to the higher class.

7.7      A junior rider’s age on January 1st 2018 will determine their age for that year.

7.8      50cc riders cannot enter in both 50cc Demo and 50cc Auto.  If riders choose to ride in 50cc Demonstration class they cannot compete in any competition classes – that is 50cc Auto or 65cc classes.

 

  1. AWARDS AND PRIZEMONEY:

8.1      Trophies will be awarded for each club day for MX and will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd & 3rd places only. 

8.2      To be eligible for any club championship end of year trophies, riders must have competed in at least 70% of the designated club days for 2018.  For example:  If 10 club days are held, a rider must have completed at least 7 days to qualify.

8.3      Club championship trophies remain the property of the Kilcoy Motorcycle Club.  It is a condition of acceptance of the trophies that the winner return them annually to the Kilcoy Motorcycle Club for the representation to subsequent winners.

8.4      50cc Demonstration riders are not lap scored or pointed.  All 50cc Demonstration participants will receive an award.

8.5      Senior Veterans & Women classes will race together however will be pointed separately. The Women’s class may run as a double gate drop to the Veterans at the discretion of the Clerk of the Course.

  1. ENTRIES TO CONSTITUTE A CLASS:
    1. To constitute a Class, the number of contestants entered and competing in each Class shall be 10 for each class of competition.
    2. Should there be insufficient entries in any Class of Competition, the decision to run or cancel the Class, or to combine events and re-distribute any awards, will be at the discretion of the club, subject to MQ approval.

 

  1. RACE FORMAT:
    1. Practice laps will be 3 laps or 8 minutes (whichever is less).
    2. Racing will be a timed event being 12 minutes for MX1 and MX2 and 10 minutes for all other classes with 3 heats but may be changed at the discretion of the Officials.
    3. Race and practice order will be notified prior to Rider’s Briefing.

 

  1. MACHINES AND RIDERS:

11.1    All machines entered must comply with the current GCR’s for Motocross Competition.

11.2    All juniors must have a suitably endorsed competition licence or a junior logbook showing that a competency assessment by an accredited coach has been undertaken on that particular capacity of machine.  If this is unable to be presented, the junior is ineligible to compete in that chosen class.

11.3    Change of machine may be permitted if submitted in writing to the clerk of course with the approval of the MA Steward at least 10 minutes prior to the start of the event in which the substitution is requested.  Substitute machine must have passed machine examination, be eligible for the class and replace a machine that cannot be reasonably repaired.

11.4    All riders under the age of 18 years must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian – if not, then a Temporary Guardianship form must be presented with entry form as sign on.

11.5    Tear-offs are permitted to be used subject to the Club’s Environmental Policy.  It is rider’s responsibility to ensure that all tear offs are picked up after racing both on the track and the pit areas and placed in the designated bins.

 

  1. RIDING NUMBERS:

12.1    Wherever possible, competitors will be allocated their Registered Riding Number.  All others will be allocated numbers at the Club’s discretion.

12.2    All Number Plates on all Machines MUST comply with the GCR’s.

12.3    Back numbers – All competitors (Junior & Senior) must wear a legible machine identification number on their back in contrasting colours.  Any rider that does not display an approved back number whilst riding may not be awarded points.

12.4    All numbers must be kept clean.  If numbers are ineligible riders may not be scored.

 

  1. GRID POSITIONS:

13.1    Will be by peg draw and that gate number is final and must be adhered to.  Any rider failing to adhere to that gate will be excluded from the competition.

 

  1. RIDERS BRIEFING:

14.1    A Riders Briefing will be held prior to the commencement of racing and ALL Competitors MUST attend the Riders Briefing. Riders Briefing is a NON Smoking Area.  Riders under the age of 18 must have their parent or legal guardian attend riders briefing.  Riders briefing will start promptly at 8.00am in the start marshalling area.  A random role call will be done at the start of briefing and riders not in attendance will not be eligible to ride. 

 

15       DRUG AND OR ALCOHOL TESTING:

15.1    All competitors and officials are advised that as part of the MA drug education program, drug testing may take place at any competition in accordance with Australian Sports Commission policy as implemented by the Australian Sports Drug Agency.

15.2    If any doubts exist over banned substances it is recommended competitors telephone the Drugs in Sport Hotline 1800 020506.  When drug testing takes place, the payment of prizemoney may be delayed at MQ discretion until the results of the tests are known.

15.3    All alcohol is banned from being consumed in the pit area and pit paddock during racing.  Any persons found consuming alcohol in these areas will be asked to leave the meeting with their riders.

 

 

16       CODE OF CONDUCT:

16.1    All Competitors, Officials and Parents are reminded of the Motorcycling Australia By-Law - CODE OF CONDUCT (as stipulated in the GCR’s) which is a guide to appropriate behaviour at all Motorcycle Race Meetings.  This CODE OF CONDUCT applies to this Meeting and will be enforced.

 

  1. TIMETABLE:

Gates Open – 3pm the preceding day.  Entry must be by Neurum Rd gate closer to Kilcoy, not at the Cnr of Runges Rd

Track Inspection – 6.00am – 7.30am

Sign On & Scrutineering – 6.30am – 7.45am

Riders Briefing – 8.00am

Practice Start – At the conclusion of riders briefing, usually 8.15am

Practice and race order as advised at riders briefing.

All riders must have transponders on their bikes for the start of practice.

First class of practice must be on their bikes with helmets off at riders briefing.

For the purposes of drug and alcohol testing, the commencement of the meeting will be deemed to be 6.30am with the completion of the meeting for the participant being when the participated has vacated the venue.

 

  1. CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION:

18.1    Kilcoy’s motocross circuit is natural terrain with manmade obstacles, the soil being of a black loam combination.

 

  1. STARTS:

19.1    All starts will be by self-penalising gates.  A maximum of forty (40) gates will be used.

19.2    All riders must be ready for racing when the 2 minute board is displayed.  Racing will not be postponed for any rider.

 

  1. RACING:
    1.     Practice laps will be 3 laps or 8 minutes (whichever is less).

20.2    Racing will be a timed event being 12 minutes for MX1 and MX2 and 10 minutes for all other classes with 3 heats but may be changed at the discretion of the Officials.

20.3    50cc Demonstration Class will be a timed 8 minute ride on a shortened track.

 

  1. NOISE:

21.1    As per MOMs for 2018 – Noise testing will be carried out during the event.  Riders are advised to be familiar with the rules and make sure machines are complaint.

 

  1. ELECTRONIC TIMING

22.1    MyLaps timing will be used at this event.

22.2    Electronic timing is compulsory for all competitors excluding 50cc Demonstration class.

22.3    Hired transponders will be handed out at sign on with extra costs. 

22.4    Transponders must be fitted for all practice sessions.

22.5    It is the competitor’s responsibility to ensure that the transponder is mounted correctly and securely to prevent damage from fouling other components on the machine.  A transponder needs to be fitted to each bike.

22.6    The onus is on senior competitors and the parent/guardian of junior competitors to ensure that the correct transponder is on the correct machine prior to each event. 

22.7    It is also the responsibility of the rider or parent/guardian to ensure that personally owned transponders are registered, activated and charged prior to use.  Failure to do so will result in the rider not being scored. 

22.8    All competitors are required to provide their MA Licence in exchange for a timing transponder, if hiring on a daily basis.

22.9    Transponders hired daily, must be picked up and returned to the designated timing tent.

22.10 Responsibility for loss or damage to transponder is on the riders, a replacement fee of $198 will be charged by Kilcoy Motorcycle Club for any damage or loss.

22.11 Daily hired transponders not returned on the same day, or not returned to the designated persons, in addition to the late return fee, the hirer is responsible for the transponder until it arrives back at the designated place.  This includes whilst in transit with Australia Post and by Courier.  No excuse will be entertained for non-delivery.

22.12 It is the competitor’s responsibility to ensure that transponders are returned in an undamaged condition at the end of the event/year or if due to machine failure or injury before the machines leaves the pit area.  Competitors may be charged an additional late return fee of $20 per day per transponder for transponders that are not returned correctly.  Some leeway may be given in special circumstances, if the transponder is returned on the Monday following the meeting or posted on that Monday.  Transponders returned after the Monday may be charged a late fee for every day late.

 

  1. SPECIAL NOTES AND WARNINGS:

23.1    No dogs allowed with the exception of Guide Dogs or Assistance Dogs

23.2    No fireworks of any kind are permitted at the venue

23.3    No scooters, pit bikes or push bikes are allowed on race day

23.4    No riding of bikes past the finish exit gate towards the toilet and canteen area.

23.5    Riding in the pits is limited to first gear idle speed only.

23.6    Officials and volunteers must be shown courtesy and respect – abuse of any riders, volunteers, officials or visitors to the venue will be penalised and excluded from events.

23.7    A permanent shower and toilet block is located next to the grand stand.  Hot showers are available.  Portable toilets/disabled toilet are located in the pit paddock.  A toilet is located near the entrance gate to the motocross track – This is for the use and convenience of riders and officials that are already in the starting area.

23.8    Presentation will be held in the canteen area at least 15 minutes after the conclusion of racing.  Please be respectful of all riders and keep noise to a minimum.

23.9    No bikes are to be started until after 8.00am.

23.10  No bikes are to be ridden in the back pit area near the entry gate.  Bikes are only permitted to be ridden to and from pit area to start area. Any rider found riding other than in first gear walking pace in pit area will be excluded from all events on that day immediately.

23.11  Camping is permitted the night before competition, however noise must be kept to a minimum, quiet conversation is acceptable only after 10pm with all generators turned off.

23.12  Chainsaws are banned from the club.

23.13  Sponsors have a designated pit area.  Do not park or camp in these sites unless you are that sponsor.

23.14  Machine Examination: will be conducted in the designated pit area.  All competitors will present themselves with all machines they will ride, helmets, back numbers, body armour (for juniors) and MA Licence – Juniors also with logbook.  Late arrivals may be considered at the discretion of the Clerk of the Course. 

23.15 Enclosed footwear must be worn at all times.
