BOW CAMP - INTENSIVE HORSE ARCHERY TRAINING CAMP WITH RIDING WITH STICKS

About the training

Bow Camp is an intensive training clinic hosted by Riding With Sticks which aims to help lift your training to the next level no matter where you are in your horse archery journey. Whether you are still getting comfortable at walk and dream of competing with the best at canter, or you've been at it for years but need to chase those higher Horse Archery Grading scores - bow camp is for you!

Taking place over 4 full on days, with up to three training sessions a day, you will be coached to improve all aspects of your horse archery skills from riding position, to speed knocking, alternative techniques, the perfect release and every other aspect we can help you improve. By locking in for an intensive 4 day training window, we can advance people significantly further in what can be achieved in our two day clinics.

Bow camp is also designed to bring your horse up in levels two, with training and coaching sessions to help improve and manage your horse in all aspects of the sport. Of course, you will also have the option of hiring one of our expert school horses instead and work intensively on yourself - you will still be taught skills that are useful to any horse you might undertake the sport on in future.

Bow camp is useful for everyone but does assume you have started your horse archery journey already. If you are looking to get started in the sport, we recommend you have undertaken some clinics or lessons before booking in for bow camp. We plan to make this an annual event, so don't worry, you won't miss out.

About Liberty and Rodney
Liberty Deaman is currently the highest ranked Australian horse archer (88th in the world) and was the highest scoring Australian rider at the 2023 World Championships, held in Mongolia, and will be just returned from the 2025 World Championships in Tennesee at the time Bow Camp is held. She is currently the Australian Representative on the International Horse Archery Alliance and has been active in the Australian Horse Archery Association (as a general member and committee member) for the past 5 years. Liberty continues to dominate the sport in Australia, but is dedicated to teaching the sport and improving it overall. She'd love for you to come and learn how to beat her one day!

Rodney Deaman is the second highest ranged Australian Horse Archer. He was the Captain of the 2023 World Championships Team and the 2021 World Grand Prix Team. He will also be just returned from the 2025 World Championships in Tenesee in time for Bow Camp, having been the official Coach of the Australian and New Zealand teams. Rodney is proving to be Australia's foremost horse archrery instructor alongside Liberty, with a proven nack for identifying issues and coaching riders on how to resolve them. Rodney has a passion for the continued improvement of the sport, having been the President of the Australian Horse Archery Association since 2020.

The Riding With Sticks Team also includes Jacquiline-Lee Dominick, who has been a horse archer for just as long as Rodney and Liberty and is a member of the 2025 World Championships Team. Jacquiline-Lee is currently ranked 5th in Australia, and has a particular passion for horse training - particularly in how to self-regulate - a vital skill for a repetitive intensive sport such as Horse Archery.

Supporting the Team is Amelia Deaman, Rodney's daughter (and Liberty's step-daughter). Amelia was Australia's youngest ever winner of a Horse Archery event, taking the National Junior Canter Title at just 8 years old! She was part of the Australian World Championship Team in 2023 where she placed 8th overall amoungst the Juniors, and has won the National Title more then any other person in Australian Horse Archery history. Amelia assists the team with looking after school horses, providing a second set of eyes for ground archery, assisting with gear and other related tasks.
