Important Dates:

Entries close  August 15th, 2022

  • Total payment of $1750.00 due by August 15th any late payments will incur a $100 late fee.
  • Entries named after August 15 but before Sept. 1 will incur a $100 late fee, per RIDER, not entry.

  • Initial draw released
  • All horses must be named prior to the Draw  Sep 4th or will incur a $100 late fee.

 

TERMS & CONDITIONS: 

  • $1750.00 Entry Fee
  • Open to horses aged 3yrs and older of all breeds
  • THE HORSES AGE WILL BE RECONISED AS OF 1 AUG 2022.
  • All Competitors must submit Proof of AGE for the Horse entered to greatestshowonhorse@gmail.com
  • ARCHA has no direct or indirect authority over the decisions & running of the show. 
  • Horses to be shown two handed in any Saddle  
  • Horses to be shown two handed in a Legal Snaffle Bit or Hackamore in accordance with NRCHA rules
  • An owner may enter more than one horse.
  • A rider may ride more than one horse.
  • A horse may only be entered one time in the class.
  • Fence Work Spectacular will consist of Two Go Rounds & the combined scores will determine who competes in a Clean Slate Finals Go Round. (Top 19 Plus ties go to Clean Slate Finals Go Round) 
  • Prize money will be paid to the owner or designated payee listed on the entry form.
  • The Show Committee reserves the right to accept or reject any entry. All decisions are final. 
  • All Payments will be made in Full by August 15th 
  • All Entries are final. If a horse becomes unable to compete, the competitor must provide VET Certificate for refund.
  • Only in extreme circumstances will the rider be allowed to substitute (IE, Sickness, Covid-19, ETC and GSOH has final decision on the matter & at no time will the horse be allowed to be substituted once the show starts)
  • When a competitor enters and fails to pay entry fees by the entry deadline their entries that were submitted will be withdrawn, should the competitor wish to enter again they will incur a late penalty entry and will go to the bottom of the draw on used cattle.
  • No exceptions will be given for this circumstance.
  • Horses that are scratched after the draw may only re-enter as a late entry and will be placed in the draw, once entries close, according to NRCHA rule 9.4.1. 

 

 

Substitutions: 

Horse Substitution

  • The substituted horse may be allowed prior to start of the show.
  • The following items must be sent to the greatestshowonhorse@gmail.com or presented to the Greatest Horse Show Office at the show by noon the day before the entered division starts:
  • A veterinary certificate or statement stating why the horse entered will be unable to work
  • A new entry form
  • Substitutions that do not provide all the items listed above will be considered a late entry and will be assessed the late entry fees due at the time of entry. 

 Rider Substitution

  • New riders may be named prior to start of the show.
  • Substitution due to accident or illness (injury of original rider) will be done according to NRCHA rule 10.1.2.6.
  • Require review and approval of the GSOH Show Committee. 

Any Substitutions can be made prior to the start of the show. Once the show commences, there will be no substitutions for Horse or Rider.

Equipment:

  • Horses must show in Legal Snaffle Bit or Hackamore
  • Horses can be shown in ANY Saddle
  • CHAPS OR CHINKS are optional
  • Entries will be shown in a standard headstall (brow-band, shaped ear or split ear) (hackamores are accepted) using a “D” or “O” Ring type, no larger than 4 inches in diameter on the inside of the ring. They must have a broken, 2- piece mouthpiece, being a minimum of 5/16 inch in diameter, measured 1 inch in from the inside of the ring on the snaffle bit, with a gradual decrease to the center of the snaffle. The mouthpiece should be round, oval or egg-shaped, smooth and unwrapped metal. It may be inlaid, but must be smooth. Latex wrap is not acceptable. These bits must be such that when the reins are pulled no undue leverage is applied, i.e. the inside of the circumference of the ring must be free of rein, curb, or head stall attachments.
  • A leather or other woven material chin strap of any width is to be used. No iron, chain or other material may be used. Chin strap is allowed to include metal buckles and/or keepers on snaffle bits only.
  • Split reins may be used. Entries must be shown with both hands on the reins.
  • After each work, headstalls must be dropped and viewed by the appointed representative of the show and mouth checked.
  • One hour prior to and during the performance, all illegal equipment must be removed from the arena. This includes turn-back horses and herd holders.
  • Reference NRCHA Rule Book section 5 for further information. 

 

Novice Campdraft RULES: 

  • Consisting of One Go Round and a Clean Slate Final Go Round.
  • Top 19 + Ties going to a Clean Slate Final Round.
  • NCCA Rules & Equipment will be utilized for this class
  • All late entries and scratches will incur a fee.(After close of entries)
  • OPEN to ALL NOVICE & MAIDEN Horses, Horses name changes will be accepted no later then 1 hr before start of class.

 

Snaffle Bit Cutting RULES: 

  • Open to all competitors regardless of earnings
  • Consisting of One Go Round and a Clean Slate Final Go Round.
  • Top 19 + Ties going to a Clean Slate Final Round.
  • Horses must show in Legal Snaffle Bit or Hackamore in accordance with NRCHA Rules
  • All late entries and scratches will incur a fee.(After close of entries)
  • In accordance with NRCHA 10.6.2.1, Competitor can show one handed in the Cutting as long as legal Snaffle Bit or Hackamore is used.
  • Horses can be shown in ANY Saddle

  • NCCA Rules & Equipment will be utilized for this class

13-17 YOUTH Two Handed Cow Horse Fence Work Spectacular RULES:

  • Youth must be between 13-17 on Day Class starts
  • Must wear APPROVED Safety Helemt & Western Attire
  • Youth can only ride on a Mare or Gelding (NO STALLIONS)
  • Rerun Cattle
  • Must Show Two Handed in Legal Snaffle Bit or Hackamore
  • All late entries and scratches will incur a fee.(After close of entries)
  • Payout is in accordance with NRCHA Pay Scale
  • 125.00 ADDED BACK Per Entry

 

TAG TEAM Championships RULES: 1st Place Team & Winning Bidder will each be present with Championship Buckle

 

  • EACH TEAM WILL BE AUCTIONED OFF & 75% of the prize pool raised will be split between the Bidder & the TAG TEAM on a sliding scale.
  • Consisting of One Go Round. Rein Work and Fence Work
  • Teams consist of two riders, one rider will do the reining , one rider will do the fence work
  • Reining and Fence work will be combined score to determine the WINNING TEAM.
  • Teams must consist of two separate Riders. No one Rider can do both Phases.
  • Rider can enter more than once, must use a different horse and different partner in each entry.
  • Teams can use two separate horses or share a horse.
  • Riders will pick the name of their team
  • TEAMS ARE ALLOWED TO DRESS UP AND EACH RIDER CAN CHOOSE THEIR OWN MUSIC TO RIDE TO DURING THEIR RUN.
  • Rider does not have to enter the arena mounted on their horse if it's part of their theme.
  • Horses must show in Legal Snaffle Bit or Hackamore in accordance with NRCHA Rules
  • Horses can be shown in ANY Saddle
  • In the spirit of this being a Tag Team event, after the 1st Rider completes their phase, before their partner can start the next phase, they must Tag their partner in by means of HIGH FIVE.
  • FAILURE TO TAG YOUR PARTNER IN, WILL RESULT IN A ZERO SCORE!!!

 

TAG TEAM PAYOUTS: (Based on 30 Teams Entering)

  • Sliding Scale Payout %, split between Team & Bidder, 1/3-1/3-1/3: (Based on 30 Teams entered, subject to change if less or more teams enter)

The Greatest Show On Horse reserves the right to cancel, transfer or reschedule without notice and/or liability. In the event of cancellation all entry fees paid to date will be refunded. Interest earned on the entries is the property of The Greatest Show On Horse. 

NRCHA rules will apply unless specifically deleted or altered. These rules and conditions are subject to change by action of The Greatest Show On Horse Show Committee.
