H2H would like to welcome all ANWEL members to enter our
HOTY competition.
Prizes and sashes for all Champions & Reserve Champions
for all classes, levels and divisions.
Ribbons to 10th place for each phase in all levels.

All levels & divisions have 3 rounds including Introductory.

ANWEL Membership is compulsory: Join ANWEL through Nominate Club Memberships, you will not be able to complete your entry without your current ANWEL membership number.
ANWE NSW HOTY Points will be awarded: To be eligible for HOTY points you must enter 2026 NSW HOTY competition via Nominate ANWE NSW State Horse of the Year 2026 separately
Bridle numbers: Bridle numbers are compulsory. Bridle numbers must be provided at the time of entry on Nominate. Two bridle numbers, one on each side of the horse, must be clearly displayed while riding in front of the Judge.

Volunteer Helpers: To make this event enjoyable for everyone, including the committee, ALL riders will be allocated a small ground crew job during the event eg. course setter, penciller, timer, runner etc. Your name will appear on the draw with your job allocation. It is a condition of entry that you volunteer some of your time or you can substitute a family friend or relative. You are required to help even if you are travelling from outside the local area.
Scratchings: Will be accepted up to the closing date of the event.
Draw: When setting the draw the committee tries to take into account riders who may be travelling some distance. From experience decisions about the draw are done to ensure the smooth & time efficient running of the competition taking into account many factors including the distance between the dressage arena, warm up, gear check and obstacle course. The draw will be emailed to all entrants a week before the event.
Course Maps: Course maps will be emailed out to all entrants once they have been approved by the judges.
Callers: Callers are permitted in all phases:
- Working Equitation Dressage phase will be penalised 5 points
- Working Equitation Maneability phase will be penalised 5 points
- Speed Phase will receive a 10 second penality.
Dressage Tests: The ANWEL dressage tests for each level will be used. HC available.
Gear Check: Gear checks for riders and horses are compulsory prior to each phase by the Gear Steward. Bridle and ANWEL numbers will also be checked.
Course Check: Be aware that it is the rider’s responsibility to make sure the course has been re-set before you start your ride. It is NOT the responsibility of the Judges or ground crew so check before you start.
Photo & Video: It is a condition of entry that any photo or video taken at the competition may be used by H2H for promotional or educational purposes. Please advise the Committee if you DO NOT wish photos of you or your horse to be used.
Food & Drinks: There are no eftpos facilities on-site. DIY tea and coffee will be available. Morning tea and a sausage sizzle will be available for $5- pre paid with entry. Water and softdrinks available for purchase cash only.
Accommodation & Horse yards limited spots are available to camp on-site for a separate fee payable on entry booking. Cost is $20- per float/ truck. Yards are free.
Entry fee for 3 Phase Introductory to Masters $65 per rider
Morning tea and sausage sizzle lunch available $5-pp.

We ask that all participants follow these protocols and conditions to ensure the enjoyment and safety of everyone:
- Dogs only allowed on lead, not to be in horse riding area or yards .
- No stallions are allowed on the property at any time
- Lunging, circling of horses on a long lead or similar, is limited to designated area only, no other areas.
- Please pick up all manure and hay from all areas, including washbay, day yards, arena, and especially parking area.
- All gates to be kept shut at all times, please close if you find open.
- Please park with 4m between each vehicle in areas indicated.
NOTE:
Under the H2H Risk Management Guidelines, Policy & Procedure Section 4.3:
All riders under 18 must wear approved helmets and foot wear. All Riders over 18 must wear approved footwear. Wearing of approved helmets for over 18 riders is optional. However H2H strongly encourages the wearing of an approved helmet.
Working Equitation Hawkesbury to Hunter aims to promote and develop Working Equitation as a sport on the Central Coast NSW and broader district, offering a friendly and supportive environment for club riders of all ages, and horses of all breeds, to come together to train, socialise and compete.
Please ensure you are familiar with the ANWE rule book.
Working Equitation is comprised of four phases, including working dressage, ease of handling with obstacles, speed obstacles and cattle handling. It is a great sport steeped in history as the goal is to preserve and carry on the cultural traditions of each country and their horses. This discipline is based on horses working on stations and in the field.
