- Champions to be decided on point system across all three competitions
- In the case of a tie, the highest percentage at the higher test will be the winner.
- Same horse and rider combination are required to be eligible for the HP champion.
- Competitors are required to enter two out of the three competitions to be eligible for the HP championship.

- Rosettes will be awarded 1st to 3rd place of each class
- Prizes will be awarded to 1st place of each class.

Champions of Competitive & Participant levels. Prep, Preliminary, Novice, Elementary, Medium, Advanced, Small Tour, Medium Tour & Large Tour will be awarded. Competitive Pony Champion awarded up to Advanced.
- Rider combinations must enter 2 out of the 3 events in the series to be eligible for HP Champion.
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
- A completed entry on Nominate entries online acknowledges understanding and acceptance of all Conditions of Entry to this event.
- All Brookleigh competitions will be conducted in strict accordance with the current edition (including amendments) of: EA Dressage Rules & Official Procedures for Dressage Competition as at 1/1/26 (and subsequent amendments), EA General Regulations.
- Competitors are advised to be aware of the Rules and the onus is on riders to know the rules under which they compete.
- Horses must have a current performance card; horses, owners and riders must be registered and financial with EA.
- Horses must compete under their full registered name. The Organising Committee has the right to abbreviate a horse’s names for printing purposes.
- All tests are for horses exceeding 149 cm with shoes or 148cms without shoes, Ponies: must not exceed 149cm with shoes or 148cm without shoes.
- EA level Competitions are open to horses/ponies that, at close of entries, have gained less than the following grading points: Preliminary/Novice: less than 30 upgrading points gained at Elem level or above; Elementary: less than 30 upgrading at Medium level or above; Medium: less than 30 upgrading at Advanced level or above; Advanced: less than 30 upgrading in FEI competitions. Horses/ponies entered in all FEI competitions must have performance at the level entered (refer performance). Refer rule 1.15.1.
- Riders must be 10 years of age and over on the day of competition when riding horses, 8 years for Ponies (refer rule 1.15.4).
- Non Competitive ( HC - Hors Concours): Competitors may not ride HC at this event.
- Withdrawals (Scratching’s) and Refunds:
- Entry fees will not be refunded after the closing date of entries unless a medical or veterinary certificate is produced within 24 hours. In such cases, 20% of the entry fees will be retained by the O.C.
- Entry fees will be refunded in full for scratching’s before the closing date.
- Championships for EA levels are to be decided on points with all horses ranked in each of the two tests (as per EA Annex I).
- Prize money: In the case of a tie for any of the first three places, the higher total of the 4 collective marks will decide the highest placing. If these marks are tied, the placings remain tied. When there is equality of places from 4th place and below, the competitors are joint equal placegetters. - The Organising Committee reserves the right to review the prize money allocation for competitions with fewer than 6 entries, specifically:
a. Where a competition has fewer than 3 entries, prize money will be paid to first place only b. Where a competition has fewer than 4 entries, prize money will be paid to first and second places only.
- Bridle numbers must be worn at all times during warm up and competition, and whenever horse is out of its stable or tied to horse float/ truck (refer to rule 1.15.5)
- Riders and/or owners whose entries have been accepted, will undertake to indemnify the Committee against all claims, losses, suits, and other damages made against or suffered by the Committee by reason of any negligent act or omission on the part of any rider trainer, or attendant whilst he/she is attending, riding or otherwise handling a horse, and agree that act or omission on the part of such rider or attendant found in any action against the Committee to be negligent, shall be deemed to have been negligent for the purpose of any claim under this indemnity.
- Entries and competition program may be limited and revised at the discretion of the Committee.
- There is no lunging in the warm up areas. A round yard is provided for lunging behind the warm up. Helmets must be worn when lunging.
- Arena familiarisation may be available the morning of the event and riders will be notified of times with the final draw.
- Postponement or cancellation of events – although unlikely for reasons such as extreme weather or a bio security issue, it is at Brookleigh Dressage Club’s discretion should entries fees be refunded.
- No dogs allowed on the grounds.
- EA Stallion Code of Conduct is to be adhered to.
Please note the following in regards to Participant/Adult Rider Classes:
- Only Participant Riders/Adult Riders are to enter “Participant” competitions.
- All Participant Riders/Adult Riders must be current Members of EA - however their ponies/horses are not required to hold membership with EA.
- In addition, Adult Riders must also be a current Member of an EA Affiliated ARCA WA Club - and they are permitted to wear their ARCA club shirt/jacket, but all other attire and gear is as per the EA Dressage Rules for competitions.
- Hors Concours is not offered for Participant/Adult Rider competitions.
- Official “Competitive” Ponies/Horses (e.g. those holding a current EA/FEI performance card/license/ID number) - with or without grading points - are not permitted to enter the “Participant/Adult Rider” Classes.
Final responsibility is on the competitor to check the draw on the day of competition. Whilst every attempt will be made to adhere to the start times in the draw, it is the rider’s responsibility to be aware via the Marshall/ Gear Checker if an arena is running ahead of schedule. If this does occur, you may be asked to ride earlier than the draw time.
Photo Release - By participating in equestrian activities you are consenting for you or your child/children being photographed or filmed. Brookleigh Riding Club and related bodies may use these images for promotional use, this includes but is not limited to, use on the Brookleigh Riding Club websites, marketing material and in all forms of media. I understand photos in which I or my child/children appear may be submitted to Brookleigh Riding Club and the various branches and stakeholders who may also use these images for the purpose of promoting any branch of Brookleigh Riding Club.
