LOGAN RIVER REDLANDS WORKING EQUITATION 'COME AND TRY' RALLY DAY 1
We're excited to announce our first working equitation rally of the 2026 year and our first at our new grounds.
The Rally Day’s program accommodates members planning on competing and non-competitive members
seeking an interesting challenge. Those choosing to work their horses in ground skills/in hand are most
welcome to participate and are encouraged to utilize any obstacle that isn’t being used by a mounted group.
Club dress is desirable but not compulsory. Members are encouraged to arrive by 7.30am and yard their
horses. A central debrief will be held at 8am which will orient all to the day and allow any final set-up. Warm
up your horses prior to the activities starting promptly at 9am. The activities are run 9-11am and then 1-
3pm. It is recommended to bring feed and water buckets to allow horses to recuperate during the lunch
break 11am-1pm. Those members planning on competing at the next HOTY are encouraged to gather at
lunch to discuss preparations. After lunch, the second session will begin promptly at 1pm.
The Rally will be based on four activities. Each activity is based on ANWE compliant obstacles. There is a
guide suggested for each activity. The guide reinforces repetition, which can be used to strengthen key
movements or key combinations. Each activity is self-measured, self-paced as much or as little as you think I
appropriate. Feedback and suggestions on activities are actively sought.
The activities for February’s Rally Day are:
o Gates & Pirouettes
o Double barrel, bridge & coat-carry
o Garrocha, bell and cup
o Cows without cows – Rollbacks
February’s Rally Day is also a ‘Come and Try’ Day to introduce the sport of working equitation to others
interested in participating.
A light lunch is included in your rally cost, stay and talk to our members to learn more about WE and make some friends.
Challenge yourselves to have a go.
