Classes: This camp will be based around certificate preperation, sign off for C* + and education

SCHEDULE INFORMATION:

  • The camp will run over 2 full days commencing 0900 Saturday morning through to 1500 Sunday afternoon 
  • Riders can elect to attend for the full camp (2 days) or single days
  • Junior riders are the priority from a scheduling perspective
  • Adult riders (PC / EA members) will be able to ride during the camp provided there is capacity and timetabling does not impact on junior riders. 
  • Rally uniform is required for camp 
  • Consider the weather - it is likely to be wet & begining to get cold especially at night - camp fires are allowed - however consider safety around tents etc.  
  • A key aspect of camp is for junior rider to learn about horse management and managing their horse / pony whilst confined in a yard – including walking, cleaning yards, water, feeding.  We encourage parents to ensure that their child’s horse is attended to as a priority over the 2 days.
  • Lunch and Dinner is included in camp fee - if any specific diet requirements please let us know as we can cater for gluten free etc
  • Morning & Afternoon tea - please bring items for shared morning and afternoon tea & BYO breakfast - the kitchen is  available for those camping
  • Parents will be required to assist with setup, pack up and any picking up of poles/raking of arenas etc during camp
  • A list of helper duties are included in the camp application
  • A gentle reminder that no child is able to attend camp without a guardian (parent or nominated adult) present.  If you would like your child to attend camp, however you have work commitments, please contact the club and we maybe able to find a solution.

 

PLEASE NOTE: 

  • PONY CLUB RULES

  • Everyone is required to assist with set up and pack away.  If you need to arrive late or leave early please ensure approval is given by the Rally Coordinator  
  • Horses not to be ridden or lead near the club rooms and storage sheds.
  • All children must be supervised at all times.
  • All lead rein riders must be led by a parent or a responsible adult.
  • Each rider under 18 years must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult for the duration of the Pony Club rally/activity. 
  • Only financial Pony Club members may ride at rally days.
  • All road gates to be kept shut at all times.
  • No one will be permitted to ride if their equipment is unsafe or if their horse/pony is considered unsafe or unwell by Chief Coach.
  • If not being ridden pony/horse must be safely secured in their allocated yard. (Refer to yard rules).
  • All rallies begin with a line up and gear check.  No one is to mount their pony/horse without being gear checked. This includes after the lunch break.
  • Riders are to leave classes dismounted and lead pony/horse back to their yard.
  • Visiting riders may not attend without gaining written/email permission from the Club Coach of their own club and the Dryandra Pony Club Chief Coach.
  • Everyone attending the rally must sign the attendance book including adult helpers and visitors.
  • Small children not part of the Pony Club rally must be supervised at all times.
  • No stallions or rigs are allowed at Pony Club.
  • No dogs are permitted at Pony Club.
  • Once dismissed – unless riding home – no rider may continue riding or jumping
  • PRESENTATION

  • Riders to be neat and tidy in Pony Club uniform.
  • Riders are permitted to wear watches, medic alert bracelets and stud earrings less than 5mm in diameter.  No other jewellery is permitted.
  • Long hair must to be restrained, either in a hairnet or plaited.
  • Horses need not be washed but must be well groomed.  Mane and tail brushed, feet cleaned out, eyes, nostrils and dock wiped clean
  • HELMETS AND BODY PROTECTORS

  • The wearing of a correctly fitting and secured safety helmet which complies with the requirements of Australia New Zealand standard AS/NZS 3838 Marked SAI Global is compulsory.
  • The retention harness must be fastened at all times when mounted.
  • Bicycle helmets are not permitted.
