Long-reining with Max Pearce
A great opportunity to learn an essential skill that helps both you and your horse develop balance and clear communication.
Max Pearce is a prominent Australian carriage driver, coach, and Hackney breeder based at Beauwood Stud, Goulburn NSW. His career of more than 30 years in carriage driving includes major accomplishments in the Royal Show ring and in the international carriage‑driving community. Max is a top-level show driver, judge and coach from foundation level to elite international standards, across all configurations—singles, pairs, tandems, and four‑in‑hand (having held EA Level 2 (Driving) and Level 2 (Coach Educator).
· Learn with your own horse.
· Small group training in enclosed arena.
· Bring your saddle and/or rollers, bridle, and lunge or long reins.
· Long reins will be available on the day.
· Learn about equipment, technique and safety then put it into practice on a short drill course.
Please choose your level from:
- Beginners - first time long-reining
- Intermediate - I have long-reined once or twice
- Experienced – I long-rein a lot
Lunch will be provided and is included in the cost of entry.
There will be a vegetarian option. Please advise of any other dietary requirements by emailing the club.
If you would like to bring a horse down for exposure, floating practice or to watch a lesson, please choose that option when entering.
On the day reminder:
Please NO lungeing on the outdoor sand arenas.
Entrance for all vehicles is via the second gate on Matthews Lane.
Park with enough room between floats/yards/containers.
BRC will be using the SJ arena and / or covered arena depending on weather.
The outdoor sand arenas will be availabe for those who wish to utililise the ground use and lunch option.

CODE OF CONDUCT, SAFETY and INSURANCE
Please ensure that your gear/equipment/horse/pony is in good safe working order.
If you are riding, you will be required to wear a tagged riding helmet approved by EA (Equestrian Australia) and appropriate clothing and footwear. Helmets are advised at all times whilst handling horses.
BRC is an EA affiliated club and, as such, is covered by Public Liability Insurance.
EA members are also covered under insurance whilst riding and training their horses. However, being a BRC member only does not mean that you are automatically covered under insurance. You should consider if holding your own personal accident or loss of income insurance is right for you if you are not also an EA member.
A scratching fee will apply. Full refunds are only available if there is a rider on the waitlist or on receipt of a veterinary or medical certificate.
Please take note of the closing date and time - NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED. There will be a small waitlist.
