BEGINNER TO ADVANCED HORSE ARCHERY WITH RIDING WITH STICKS
About the training
This is an introduction clinic and assumes that you and your horse have never attempted horse archery, although participants with experience will gain a lot from the clinic. Riders who have already experienced horse archery before are also welcome, and will be provided additional tuition in more advanced techniques and continued improvement of the required skill set.
Riders will be instructed in the archery techniques from the ground, including safe carrying of equipment while on horseback, loading of arrows, shooting, targeting and safe retrieval of arrows, introduction of archery equipment to their horses, and basic shooting from the saddle. Most riders spend the duration of their attendance at walk, and there is no obligation to ride faster than you are comfortable. There will also be discussions regarding competitions, technique equipment selection, further training, and clubs within Australia.
Riders are encouraged to attend both days for the best results. Riders who attend a single day will achieve a basic understanding of the sport and techniques. Please note this clinic will be run on the Friday and Saturday. The Sunday will be the first meeting of the Australian Horse Archery Association North Brisbane Branch. You can join the AHAA and attend this day also, and meet the people and learn the set up so you can continue your horse archery journey following the clinic. RWS will be helping with this first rally day, but it is not a clinic/teaching day. Further details about this will be provided separately via the AHAA Facebook pages/s. A dicsount of $50 off the two day clinic price is available to all AHAA Members or anyone who has applied for AHAA Membership, which is the same as the cost for a half year membership with the AHAA.
Tickets are also available for participants in the ground archery session only, and fence sitters. Full event attendees will have a discount applied to their ticketing automatically prior to check out. Discounts will also be available for anyone attending the clinic for two days who is a member of the Australian Horse Archery Association (or can demonstrate they have applied) and is attending the Sunday Rally Day.
Full attendance details will be provided via email prior to the event and all attendees must return the completed forms and waivers prior to the event.
