BRC Training Day - 27 September 2026
Bungendore Riding Club’s Gymkhana experience.
We thought you might like some practice to be prepared to take on the Southern Tablelands Adult Riding Clubs Competition (STARCC) - this years adults gymkhana, hosted by Monaro Equestrian Association (MEA), will be a jam packed weekend of ring events (hacking/flat work), dressage, show jumping, games and more.

Showing / Hacking / Flat Work
BRC is delighted to welcome back by popular demand Kate O’Connor, Equestrian Australia Level 1 show horse coach and dressage Level 1, will share her ring etiquette knowledge with riders from her years (accumulated over 40 years) of showing different breeds at national championships and Royal Shows. Kate's previous tuition for BRC has been very well received.
Showjumping / Jumping
Sarah Hogan a qualified instructor and trainer with over 20 years of experience, will help give riders the confidence to complete a ‘clear’ show jumping round. Known for her calm, encouraging approach, Sarah is passionate about building trust between horse and rider making her the perfect instructor to help those who have never done a showjumping course before - or maybe you are helping your off the track thoroughbred complete a round. Sarah will be available to help.
Sporting / Games
Riders will have the opportunity to practice bending, barrels or versatile horse obstacles - compete against yourself or others. Heather Nicholson will be available to help share how to safely approach sporting and games OR improve your speed through the bending poles and other sporting/games expected to be at STARCC.
A great opportunity to continue your preparation for the STARCC competition later this year!
This is a full gymkhana experience. You will get over 3 hours of riding practice in. Just like a gymkhana you will move with your group through sporting, jumping and ring events. Only difference is this is not a competition there will be guidance provided along the way.
Please indicate your preferred jumping height so we can match riders within groups. Group levels will be flexible depending on entries.
