VALLEY VIEWS, CHITTERING, 25th OCTOBER - Cattle Phase

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

VENUE ADDRESSES:  State Equestrian Centre, 302 Cathedral Avenue, Upper Swan/Valley Views Equestrian Park, 321 Blue Plains Road, Chittering.

All Riders MUST be a current member of an ANWE WA affiliated club and hold a current ANWEL Rider Levy number.

ENTRIES:  Entries can only be accepted via Nominate.  Entries will close at midnight on 17th October 2026.

FEES:  Due to the generosity of our sponsors, it has enabled ANWE WA to offer reduced fees for the 3 Phases and Cattle Phase of this event, including the absorption of the additional SEC Facility  and Non-EWA Member Ground Service Fees (combined $35).  Our grateful thanks to our sponsors - Community Bank Mundaring and Western Building.  

CODE OF CONDUCT:  Every Rider at the Event will be required to comply with Rule 20 covering the ANWEL Code of Conduct, Member Protection Policies detailed on the ANWEL website (www.anwel.org.au).

DRAW:  Every attempt is made to accommodate riders, horses and test within appropriate time frames and at the rider's request.  However, the Organising Committee reserves the right to arrange the draw in the most appropriate manner to suit all competitors and is final.  The draw and important information about the Event will be emailed to all entrants no later than one week prior to the event.

HELMETS:  All helmets must have a current EA tag.

BRIDLE/SADDLE PAD NUMBERS:  Will be allocated on the draw and it is the responsibility of the rider to purchase and affix a bridle number to their horse's bridle or a saddle pad number.

GEAR CHECKING:  Gear checks for riders and horses are compulsory prior to all phases by the Gear Check Marshall. Be aware of the requirements for competition, refer Rule 7 - Tack and Attire. Elimination will occur if gear checks are not competed.

Riders, once gear checked, cannot leave the warmup area until their entry into the competition arena.  Riders leaving the warmup area for any reason will need to be gear checked again before entering the competition arena for their class.

PHOTO & VIDEO:  It is a condition of entry that any photo or video taken at the competition may be used for teaching purposes at future Judges clinics and ANWE WA promotional use.

STABLES & CAMPING:  Stables and camp sites must be booked and paid for through the State Equestrian Centre directly.  Alternative yards are available in the Horse & Pony Club area.  Campers can arrive Friday afternoon, stay overnight on Saturday and if competing in the Cattle Phase, relocate Sunday morning to Valley Views, (travel time approximately up to 40 minutes from SEC).  The Cattle Phase will not commence until late morning. The exact time will be in the draw allowing for competitors to arrive, settle and warmup their horses.

RIDER CHANGE: Riders may be changed before the start of the competition upon notification in writing to the Event Secretary.  The new rider must be a current member of both an ANWE WA affiliated club and ANWEL. Membership and rider levy numbers must be quoted when advising of any change of Rider.

WARM UP ARENAS:  Please be considerate of other horses warming up and observice arena warmup rules (Rule Book Appendix 1).  Only the entered Rider can ride their horse on the Event grounds (Rule 6.10).

CALLERS:  Callers are permitted, refer the ANWEL rule book for applicable penalties.

COURSE WALK:  The draw will include times for a Course Walk for each EOH/Speed level.  Riders are to be unmounted and in full competition attire for the Course Walk (Rule 14.20.2).  Riders should note the obstacles that require resetting and be aware that it is the Rider's responsibility to make sure the course has been reset when entering the arena (Rule 14.22).

AWARDS:  Rosette to Best Presented Horse and Rider (one award), Rosettes to First, Second and Third place in each Level, Indvidual first to third place in the Cattle Phase and first to third in Team Cattle Phase.  Awarding of additional prizes will be at the Organising Committee's discretion.

DOGS: All dogs must be kept on a leash.  Dogs and children are not allowed in the gear check, competition or warmup areas.

DISPUTES:  Any protest must in accordance with the Rulebook Rule 9 utilising the form in Appendix V.

COURSE TIME LIMIT - INTRODUCTORY LEVEL ONLY: Ease of Handling rounds for Introductory Level will have a ten (10) minute time limit to complete the course from the time of entering the Start flags.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY - CATTLE PHASE  - Refer to ANWEL Rule Book, Rule 17 - Cattle Phase which states: "The Cattle Phase is open to Preparatory Level and above. Riders are urged to attend at least two cattle clinics a year."  ANWE WA acknowledges that due to the limitations of attending Working Equitation specific cattle clinics before these State Championships, riders MUST have attended at least one working equitation cattle clinic prior to entries closing.  

Riders who have competed in a Working Equitation Cattle Phase in an ANWE Affiliated Club competition previously may seek an exemption from this requirement.

Riders should form a team of four and name their team and advise which team they are part of when entering.  Riders who are unable to form a team prior to entry can form a team after entries close with others who are also not in a team.

ANWE WA reserves the right to refuse entry to any rider.

REFUNDS:  Full refund for any reason, less an administration fee ($1) will be allowed if scratched before the closing date in Nominate.  Any scratching after the closing date must be submitted with a doctor's or veterinarian's certificate attached and will be refunded less an administration fee.

ANY RIDER WHO FAILS TO COMPLY WITH THESE CONDITIONS OF ENTRY OR THE DIRECTION OF ANY MEMBER OF THE COMMITTEE MAY BE ELIMINATED.
